Jordan did not eat very well today. He had a couple of bites of peaches and cream oatmeal and mandarin oranges at home. When he got to school, they were serving cornflakes and applesauce. Applesauce is one of his favorites, but he did not want any. At least when I left him he didn’t cry. He actually waved goodbye to me. It makes me nuts that they try to immediately take his pacifier away from him and they tell me that he doesn’t need it. He asks for it all the time at home, and the way I see it, he’s only 18 months old and he is still a baby.
When I picked him up, they told me that he did not eat any of his lunch. He only drank milk. So, at home, I tried to feed him some soup, but he only took a couple of bites. I thought he may be sick, but he was running around as usual, getting into things. We went outside and he played with the basketball. He loves trying to shoot the ball into the hoop. We also looked for airplanes in the sky and listened to the train while he made “choo-choo”sounds.
I don’t think he is sick, but I hope he gets his appetite back tomorrow.

Today was pretty hard for Jordan. When dropping him off for school, her cried incessantly and did not want me to leave. I think he is experiencing separation anxiety. He also wants his pacifier a lot more than normal. When I arrived to pick him up around 4 pm, he was also crying. His teachers tell me that he is very moody when he wakes up from his nap, which he usually takes for a over two hours.
And, for some reason, he has to hold onto a cup in order to get to sleep at night. He doesn’t want to drink from it…just hold it as he drifts off to sleep.

How do you like my new site? Derek found the frogs for me.
Jordan had a very active day today. When he goes to school, they do not like him to have his pacifier, but today, he insisted on keeping it in his mouth. So, they let him keep it. When I pick him up, he immediately asks for it…even when he has not used it all day. I think the pacifier is directly linked to me.
At home, we all went outside and played with his basketball hoop. He made a few shots and wanted to be lifted in the air to place the ball in the main hoop that we have outside. He mowed the lawn with his toy mower (actually, he was trying to run over our cat, Agent Smith), and he pointed in the sky at airplanes that were flying by. He also went next door to the neighbor’s house to bark at her dog.
At dinner, he threw his food on the floor for the dogs and then at me because it was funny. He also thought it was funny to pour his juice all down the front of his body.
Finally, upstairs he threw the dog food inside of my tub. That was the final straw….It was time for bed. So, I sat him down with me and I played Scrabble on Pogo.com while he watched and drifted off to sleep as he has done many times before. Now, he looks just like an angel, sleeping, until it is time to wake up in the morning and do it all over again.

Jordan went insane tonight! He decided to try and throw a glass at Banzai, our dog. Luckily, the glass hit the carpet instead of the tile floor. Then, he was using a gift-wrapping tube as a light saber to try and slay me. When I took it away from him, he had a fit! Finally, upstairs, he picked up the ceramic dog bowl and threw it on the tile floor in the master bathroom, shattering it into pieces. My conclusion…if this is any indication of future behavior, I am in trouble!

I made myself a challenge today…I started this blog about my life with Jordan and then I stopped blogging for a long time. I let things in my life get in the way of my reflections. So, I made a promise to my husband that I was going to blog every day for a year about what is happening with Jordan. Today is day one.

I have been gone awhile and have decided to go back to blogging about my son so that I will have something to look back upon. I got this great book called, “Gymboree Toddler Play” by Dr. Wendy S, Masi, and I am going to use it daily. Inside are games and activities that use things around the house and are supposed to maximize your child’s potential. I noticed that I buy toys for Jordan, but he is more interested in discovering things around the house. Today, we are going to make and stack blocks and sing about “Five Little Raindrops”. I’ll let you know how it goes….
